Module B starts into Phase 2

Start into the next three years of collaborative research in 3DO+M

Module B of the BMBF-Programme Urban Climate under Change [UC]2 has started a second funding phase with a kick-off event in Berlin from 06. - 07. November 2019. In a slightly changed composition, the consortium of 12 sub-projects intends to participate in the development, testing, establishment and consolidation of the new urban climate model PALM-4U over the next three years.

Almost 40 participants from Module B visited the kick-off event in Berlin to get an overview of the plans of the individual sub-projects. As already indicated in the name of the project group, an essential part of the work will be modelling with PALM-4U, both for testing functionality of the model and for scientific studies on the urban and regional climate. Different aspects of air quality, urban climate situations, bioclimatic stressors as well as urban wind and transport phenomena represent only a part of the topics to be dealt with. These topics are also of great interest for application. With the city of Augsburg, additional partners from planning practice are on board.

After the successful start, Module B project partners directly went to the kick-off of the Programme, which also took place in Berlin.
